Postdoctoral grants in the programs “Ramón y Cajal” and “Juan de la Cierva”

DOMINICAL REPORTAJE MU (9717814)The research Group on Energy Optimization, Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics of University of Salamanca is open to support postdoctoral grants in the programs “Ramón y Cajal” y “Juan de la Cierva” funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The research of the Group is focused to renewable energy systems, energy production through concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies, thermal energy storage (TES), and analysis and optimization of other energy conversion systems. New research lines are also welcomed. Details on Group’s activities can be found in:

Main characteristics of both postdoctoral programs:

“Ramón y Cajal” (for ‘senior’ postdocs)

Possible applicants: PhDs graduated between January 1st, 2014 and December 31st, 2022

Duration: 3 + 2 years (+ possible long-term contract in the University)

Gross salary: 36.000 € / 42.500 € (+ an additional funding for research activities of 50.000€)

 

- “Juan de la Cierva” (for ‘young’ postdocs)

Possible applicants: PhDs graduated between January 1st, 2023 and December 31st, 2024

Duration:  2 years

Gross salary: 30.000 €

 

Applications for both programs should be completed before mid January 2025.

El XXII Mainz Physics Summer Program que tendrá lugar del 1 de agosto al 30 de septiembre del 2024. MainzPhysicsSummerProgramm2024

Dirigido a  estudiantes de último curso de grado o máster interesados en realizar un internship en un grupo de investigación en la Johannes Gutenberg Universität (JGU) en Mainz.
La fecha límite para la solicitud es el 15 de abril.

Grants for 2019 Summer Research Programme ASTRON & VLBI ERIC (JIVE)

The Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) and the Joint
Institute for VLBI ERIC (JIVE) announce the availability of a limited
number of grants for their 2019 Summer Research Programme. The
Programme enables astronomy students (graduate or advanced
under-graduate) to spend the summer (10-12 weeks) at the institute in
Dwingeloo in the Netherlands, conducting astronomical research under
the supervision of ASTRON and JIVE staff members.

Possible topics of study include radio galaxies and quasars, aspects
of observational cosmology, continuum and line mission/ absorption
from normal and starbust galaxies, faint radio sources, pulsar timing,
pulsar searching, fast radio bursts, molecular clouds, cosmic
magnetism, as well as algorithm development. The actual project the
successful candidate will work on will be defined after arrangement
with the local supervisor. The programme is not aimed at engineering
or electronics students.
