Translation internships aim to build a bridge between students’ academic training and professional reality existing in different institutions and organisations which collaborate with the Master’s Degree. As far as possible, the conditions that will regulate students’ work will be close to those regulating labour markets since it is expected that students learn how to face real situations and problems independently. In January, an informative meeting will be set up and students will deal with their internships during the second quarter.
Faculty students shall generally work from English, French or German to Spanish, or vice versa depending on their mother tongue. They shall work on a specific assignment for a specific entity during a specified time period. The organisation of students in work teams (preferably work teams of 2, 3 or 4 members) shall be favoured. In exceptional cases, students will be able to work individually. The creation of a work team necessarily implies the existence of a manager. Other figures that form part of this work team are the revision tandem, a terminological manager, a manager of translation memories, a layout editor, etc.
