The main line of research in which I have worked since 2000 is the development of rapid analytical methodologies based on mass spectrometry. The main methodological contributions have been made in the environmental, pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. The research activity carried out shows continuity in scientific production. I have published 33 papers in indexed journals of which 30 are research articles and 3 are bibliographic reviews. All the works are published in journals that occupy the first quartile of their category, except for two that are in the second quartile. In addition, I have co-authored two book chapters (Reference Module in Chemistry, Molecular Sciences and Chemical Engineering and Encyclopedia of Analytical Chemistry). I have co-directed a Doctoral Thesis, 3 Bachelor’s thesis, 8 Final Degree Projects and one Final Master’s Project. I have participated in 16 research projects financed by different organizations (6 national, 6 regional and 4 local) and I have been the principal investigator in two of the local projects. I have regularly attended national and international congresses in which I have participated with 23 poster-type communications and 6 oral communications, 4 of which were presented by me. The research activity is complemented by two stays at the research center “Center for Chemometrics” of the University of Bristol (United Kingdom) with prof. Richard G. Brereton.

I have three recognized research six-year terms (2002-2007, 2008-2013 and 2014-2019). I have an H index of 17 and my scientific contribution has been cited more than 700 times (341 times in the last 6 years). The average number of citations per year since 2016 is 60 (Source: Google Scholar).

I have obtained an excellent performance assessment in the teacher evaluation for the 2011-2016 period. I have two recognized teaching five-year periods (2006-2011 and 2012-2016). I am currently the treasurer of the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry.
