Lines of research

1. Cardiopulmonary and subcutaneous dirofilariasis: Immunopathology, cellular and molecular mechanisms, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and control of animal and human dirofilariasis (D. immitis and D. repens).
2. Study of vectors transmitting parasitic diseases in Spain.
3. Angiostrongylosis: epidemiology, diagnosis and control.
4. Porcine ascariasis: epidemiology, diagnosis in extensive pig farms and the monitoring of environmental variables that influence the presence of the parasite in an indirect way to later compare them between farms with infected and healthy pigs in order to control this type of diseases or similar diseases with the same symptomatologies in intensive or extensive pigs.
5. Vector-borne diseases (leishmaniasis, ehrlichiosis and animal anaplasmosis): epidemiology, diagnosis and control.
