Abstract
This research note outlines the current state of preservation and accessibility of an audiovisual document that contains complete video footage of the Trial of the Argentine Military Junta, whose verdict in 1985 found the accused guilty of crimes against humanity perpetrated during the last military dictatorship in Argentina (1976–1983).The project of digitization is the result of a joint effort by the University of Salamanca, the Argentine human rights organization Memoria Abierta, and the judges involved in the case, with the support of the Argentine Cámara Nacional de Apelaciones en lo Criminal y Correccional Federal. Its two main objectives are to preserve and provide open access to the audiovisual document. To date only digitized preservation has been attained, a nonetheless remarkable achievement. Despite legislation dates enforcing the protection of the parties involved in the trial, and the absence of legal constraints, open access to the document has not been obtained.

Abstract:
Preserve documentary heritage to protect the world’s memory. This publication documents how memory institutions from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe as well as Latin America and the Caribbean have come to terms with, and are putting in place measures to reduce or manage, the risk that natural and man-made disasters pose to their documentary holdings. Possibly up to 80 per cent of audiovisual collections scattered at various research institutions or cultural bodies are not adequately safeguarded. These experiences and measures include the elaboration of robust emergency preparedness plans and forging equally robust national and international cooperation for the preservation and accessibility of documentary heritage. In this way, policy makers and memory institutions (libraries, archives, museums, etc.), along with the support of national and regional committees of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, can make the preservation of documentary heritage a key feature of sustainable development.
Our work aims to define and understand a model of digital repository , the Heritage Repository HR, that is a kind of digital library where heritage documents are stored for preservation and dissemination. According to the model for its management, the HR is understood as a documentary information system (DIS) whose elements are integrated to achieve a common objective related to heritage conservation.

OPENMETHODS HIGHLIGHTING DIGITAL HUMANITIES METHODS AND TOOLS
The OpenMethods platform highlights curated content about Digital Humanities methods and tools. With digital methods and tools becoming more and more part of the daily research routines of humanities scholars, practical reflections, descriptions of scientific breakthroughs accelerated by DH techniques and theoretical reflections play an emerging role in scholarly communication. Knowledge and critical discussion of digital methods and tools is much needed to prove the value, chances and challenges of “humanities computing”. With the enormous amount of material available online, from blog posts, articles, expert reports, etc., we strongly feel the need to highlight and promote especially valuable multilingual and multidisciplinary Open Access content about Digital Humanities methods and tools on one dedicated platform. OpenMethods answers to this need.

Experts call for greater recognition of software source code as heritage for sustainable development, November 2018.
The themes which will be discussed during this Expert Meeting, co-organized with INRIA, are:
1. Software as both cultural heritage and business vehicle
2. Software to enhance education and science
3. Legal and ethical implications
4. Policy making and advocacy
This event will seek to achieve the following three results:
1. Highlight the importance of preserving software in general, and software source code in particular as important levers of sustainable development; identify the resources needed to support software preservation in terms of infrastructural development as well as an enabling policy and legal framework for long-term software preservation.
2. Produce a conceptual framework for promoting software development as a serious field for applied and academic research, given the fact that software development is increasingly becoming an essential part of all research activities in all fields, from ‘hard’ to ‘soft’ sciences, including in the humanities.
3. Suggest means to develop a Global Software Registry, which will help all stakeholders to recognize and enable software reuse as an important part of all modern software developments by providing a universal catalogue that will index all available software components, with the metadata needed to properly locate and reuse them.

To be held on 25-26 October, immediately following the regional committee meeting of MOWLAC in Panama City, this conference will be organized by UNESCO’s Memory of the World (MoW) Programme and will bring together about 30 members of the different regional committees of the Memory of the World, including MOWLAC, the African Regional Committee for Memory of the World (ARCMOW) and the Memory of the World Committee for Asia/Pacific (MOWCAP).
Le Programme mémoire du monde de l’UNESCO (MoW) organise une conférence interrégionale de collaboration en matière de préservation et d’accessibilité de la mémoire les 25 et 26 octobre 2018, immédiatement après la réunion du Comité régional MOWLAC à Panama City. Cet événement réunira environ 30 membres des différents comités régionaux de la Mémoire du monde, dont MOWLAC (Comité régional de l’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes), ARCMOW (le Comité régional africain) et MOWCAP (Comité pour l’Asie/Pacifique).

[EN] The ‘Scientific culture, perception and attitudes toward science and innovation in the Spanish business sector’ questionnaire (shortened to Scientific Culture at Enterprises, SCe) was developed in response to a need to complement the data provided by economic studies with an analysis of perceptions within the business sector that shed light on the social dimensions of this link that are not not covered by other types of approaches. X International Colloquium on Documentation Sciences
La Universidad de Salamanca le invita a participar en el X Coloquio Internacional de Ciencias de la Documentación, que en esta edición de 2013 se orienta hacia la interoperabilidad y el acceso a los recursos. Una de las principales características del X Coloquio es que se ha dado un protagonismo esencial a la normativa RDA – Recursos, Descripción y Acceso. Dada la importancia de este nuevo código, se ha dedicado a RDA tanto un taller práctico como diferentes presentaciones contextuales. Además, se tratarán temas de interés relacionados con las posibilidades de la interoperabilidad, los recursos enlazados y los contenidos abiertos. Por este motivo, además de conferencias invitadas para la ocasión, se da cabida también a las comunicaciones sobre metadatos y datos enlazados seleccionadas en el congreso paralelo Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality (TEEM Conference).
