We are currently seeking finished, previously unpublished articles for an edited anthology under contract, entitled “Transgressing the Limit: Borders and Liminality in Philosophy and Literature”.  This article will serve as a substitute piece for an author who has dropped out of the process.

“Transgressing the Limit” explores the ways in which boundaries are transgressed, borders crossed, and binaries dismantled in the identity politics of race, gender, sexuality, and nationality. The substitute articles that we are seeking should focus on theories of border and liminality that disrupt the binaries of gender and sexual identities.  As this volume is an interdisciplinary project, we are seeking essays that engage with both philosophical and literary texts. We are particularly interested in articles that approach borders and liminality within the following topics:

Transgender identity

Gender ‘passing’

Ecofeminism

Radical Queer Activism

Disruptions of Patriarchy

Non-Binary Gender

The deadline for completed articles (5000-7000<file://localhost/tel/5000-7000> words; CMS style guidelines) is May 15, 2017.  The article, along with a 500 word abstract and a brief author bio, can be sent to: borderprojectabstracts@gmail.com.

Co-editors:  Dylan Winchock is a lecturer of literature and border studies, and Jessica Decker is an assistant professor of philosophy; both teach at California State University, San Marcos.
