Jaume Masip, Ph.D.
I am an associate professor in the Department of Social Psychology and Anthropology at the University of Salamanca (USAL).
My main research area is the detection of deception, particularly in investigative and legal contexts, but also in everyday-life settings. I have conducted several studies examining police officers’ accuracy and bias in judging veracity, and have co-authored several major reviews on credibility assessment based on verbal cues.
Other research topics I am interested in are police interrogation and false confessions, investigative interviewing, and judgment and decision-making in investigative and legal contexts.
