We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our thriving Department of Sociology as an Assistant Professor at an important stage in its development.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding sociologist with a growing reputation in any field of sociology. They will have made significant contributions to scholarship and research in sociology and will be required to deliver high quality publications in sociology to complement the Department of Sociology’s existing research profile and to enhance its future REF submission. The Department has focused its research in three thematic areas: Economy, Technology, Expertise; Inequalities and Social Change; Justice, Authority and the Geopolitical.
We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any field of sociology. We are looking for candidates who can make contributions to core modules in theory and methods, and to more specialised modules in areas such as gender and society, global sociology, criminology, media and culture and digital sociology. Experience of curriculum development is essential, including working with colleagues in other social science disciplines.
