RESUMEN-ABSTRACT
Petrographic and geochemical characterization of the rocks underlying the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian angular unconformity in the eastern flank of the Narcea Antiform, provide an insight on the processes involved in the widespread rubefaction present along this contact. The data provide evidence of superposed events related to the sub-aerial weathering during the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary and a further alteration caused, probably, by fluid circulation during the Variscan Orogeny.
Key words: Rubefaction, paleoweathering, paleoalteration, geochemiastry, Cambrian-Precambrian boundary.
