Chuck Lorre’s new atypical sitcom: Bob hearts Abishola

Between laughs and cultural referencies

Welcome!

I would like to share on this occasion a series that for the last three years has become my first choice to rest and laugh a while after a long day. It has it all to catch your attention while you decompress.

Description

«Bob Hearts Abishola» series produced by Chuck Lorre (same producer as The Big Bang Theory and The Young Sheldon) is a family comedy set in Detroit today. It recounts in a comical way the rapprochement of two culturally opposed families that have come closer to each other, is a reflection of the multicultural society of the North American country.

Bob Wheeler, a successful businessman at the head of a family business, suffers a sudden heart attack and is treated in hospital by a relentless and stoic nurse named Abishola.

Oil and water do not mix, so do both characters at firts, but little by little they smooth things over until they forge a friendship that will flourish into a relationship. So far, the argument shows no sign of originality; however, Chuck Lorre, as usual, shows us a different sector of society than usual by introducing us to Nigerian culture and their customs in juxtaposition to the typically American ones.

The outcome? An amalgam of laughter and learning, as the mixture of two different cultures in everyday situations with a touch of comedy will take you out of the routine.

¿Where to watch?

You can watch Bob Hearts Abishola on Amazon Prime Video. Each chapter lasts about 20 minutes, so it’s perfect for  your coffee pause or after a long day.
