Ricardo Gómez Nieto is currently studying the neural substrates of the auditory brainstem that contribute to the prepulse inhibition of the acoustic startle reflex. He is interested on the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the cochlear nucleus and the superior olivary complex. Ricardo is also working on the validation of the hamster GASH/Sal as a model of audiogenic seizure.
