María Paniagua-Sancho – Postdoctoral Researcher

María Paniagua

I have a degree in Biology from the University of Salamanca. Then I studied a master’s degree in Biology and Clinical of Cancer and I obtained my PhD in Pathophysiology and Pharmacology in 2022. My PhD thesis, entitled “PAI-1: A potential biomarker for the diagnosis of acute kidney injury”, was performed under the direction of Dr. Carlos Martínez Salgado and Dr. Francisco J. López Hernández at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. After finishing my PhD with a grade of summa cum Laude, I obtained a postdoctoral contract funded by the Junta de Castilla y León to join the Neurobiochemistry laboratory of Dr. Arantxa Tabernero at the Institute of Neuroscience of Castilla y León, in the University of Salamanca. I am focused on the study of the mechanism of action of antitumor peptides with therapeutic interest for glioblastoma.
