Claudia Ollauri-Ibañez – Postdoctoral Researcher

I have a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Lleida. Then I moved to the University of Salamanca, where I studied a master’s degree in Biology and Clinical of Cancer and I obtained my PhD in Pathophysiology and Pharmacology in 2018. My PhD thesis, entitled “Effect of endoglin overexpression on tumor and physiological angiogenesis”, was performed under the direction of Dr. Miguel Pericacho and Dr. Alicia Rodríguez Barbero at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. Moreover, during this period I made a predoctoral stay in the laboratory of Dr. Helen Arthur, at the International Centre for Life of the Newcastle University. After finishing my PhD with a grade of summa cum Laude, I stayed one more year as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of the University of Salamanca and then joined the Pediatric Oncology group of the Biocruces-Bizkaia Health Research Institute, supervised by Dr. Itziar Astigarraga, where I learned how to manage and participate in clinical trials. Recently and after a brief period participating in the diagnosis of COVID-19 at the DNA National Bank (University of Salamanca), I obtained a postdoctoral contract funded by the Junta de Castilla y León to join the Neurobiochemistry laboratory of Dr. Arantxa Tabernero at the Institute of Neuroscience of Castilla y León, in the University of Salamanca.
