On October 30, 2025, I taught a class titled “Food, Nutrition, and School: Perspectives from Brazil and Spain” in the Master’s Program in the Sociology of Education at USAL. I discussed the National School Feeding Program (PNAE), one of Brazil’s oldest public policies and a model recognised worldwide. I highlighted key characteristics of school food environments in Spain observed during my project’s data collection. I left the classroom feeling that these two realities, though distinct, have much to learn from each other.
