On December 12, 2024, I had the pleasure of giving a talk at the Doctoral Research Seminar in Social Sciences, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Salamanca, Spain. My lecture, “Beyond Nutrients: Rethinking Food Classification for Health and Sustainability with Brazil’s NOVA”, focused on the relevance of the NOVA classification system as a framework to better understand the connections between food, health, and sustainability. It was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with doctoral researchers and discuss how interdisciplinary perspectives can enrich our approach to food systems.
