Big amounts of openly accessible data are produced constantly on the internet in social networks, search engines or other media sites. This data, known as Big Data, is characterized by its large volume, its variety and its rapid generation rate. Analyzing this data can give businesses a competitive advantage in their market.
The availability of affordable computing power and storage needed to process this data, led to a growing number of companies offering this processing as a service for other companies. One example is Bloomreach, a company which can provide answers to specific business questions for their customers with the help of analyzing Big Data in real time.
For example, the information collected by Bloomreach allows to update the website of the fashion label Guess automatically at any given moment. This ensures the website is using the right words and structure to meet their potential customer’s expectations.
