PhD in Physics (2014). I am a dynamic, hands-on experimental physicist seasoned in the characterization of optical and electronic properties of devices/samples made from emerging nanomaterials, including quantum materials and chiral systems. I have an interdisciplinary background in science (BSc 2007, MSc 2008, PhD 2014) and engineering (BEng, 2005), together with relevant research experience in both academia and industry. This distinctive profile allows me to explore and unveil the intrinsic properties of novel nanomaterials as well as exploit them towards solving current technological challenges.

Currently working as Senior Researcher (Ramón y Cajal fellow) at the Department of Applied Physics, University of Salamanca (Spain). Previously, I have worked in different international affiliations such as KLA Corporation, DK-US (research scientist, 2020-2021); Lund University-LU, SE (researcher); Technical University Denmark DTU, DK (postdoc/researcher) or Trinity College Dublin TCD, IE (PhD student).

I am the principal Investigator of a 2021 ERC Starting Grant, CHIROTRONICS “Controlling chirality in atomically thin quantum electronic materials”, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

Fields of interest: Quantum materials, 2D materials, chiral systems, nanofabrication, nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, among others.
