Call for Papers: ‘Women on the Move’

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the annual history conference celebrating International Women’s Day at Queen’s University Belfast. The conference is organised by postgraduate history students at Queen’s and aims to explore and promote women’s history. All postgraduate students and early stage researchers are warmly invited to attend.
The theme for this year’s conference seeks to explore ‘women on the move’ across all geographical areas, from the early modern period to the twentieth century. We welcome proposals for papers on, but not restricted to, the following topics:
- Women and activism
- Revolutionary women
- Politics
- Migration
- Social mobility
- Leisure
- Education
- Transport
- Philanthropy
- Courtships, relationships, marriage and divorce
- Girlhood, youth and growing up
- Women and the workplace
- Exiled women
