Job: Lecturer in Sexuality Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Position Available: Lecturer in Sexuality Studies

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies (GSWS) Program at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non-tenure-steam lecturer position in sexuality studies. Pending budgetary approval, the position will begin in fall 2016 with an initial two-year contract, with the possibility of obtaining renewable three-year contracts after satisfactory performance reviews.

Applicants must demonstrate interest and proficiency in teaching gender, queer, and sexuality studies from an interdisciplinary perspective. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and innovative teacher and will teach “Sex and Sexualities” (a core course for our major), Queer Theory, Introduction to GSWS, and advanced special topics courses (e.g., Transgender Studies, Global LGBTQ Literature, Sexuality and Media, etc.). Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary program, direct undergraduate research projects, organize events and student colloquia, and participate in collective governance. A PhD in hand at the time of appointment is required. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
