Research

Since November 2015, I am working as Lecturer at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry (University of Salamanca, Spain). My research at the department focuses on the development of new analytical methods for the determination of emerging contaminants in environmental samples (water, soils) based on gas chromatographic analysis. Furthermore, another objetive of my current research is the analysis and quantification of different biomarkes in biological fluids related to cancer (lung cancer and prostate/bladder cancer).

Briefly, my current research interests are:

  • Gas and Liquid Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS).
  • Flow injection analysis-mass spectrometry (FIA-MS).
  • Sample pre-treatment techniques.
  • Derivatization reactions.
  • Metabolomics/Proteomics.
  • Pharmaceutical compounds/drugs.
  • Environment.

Fellowships and Awards

2011: Award for the best PhD Thesis. School of Chemistry at the University of Salamanca.  Academic course 2010-2011.

2011: 3rd award in the “International Year of Chemistry” Master Thesis Contest. (North-West of Spain, 2006-2010).
