Ángel Luis González Esteban (Spain, 1987) graduated in Economics at the University of Salamanca and then coursed a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies. After that, he moved one year to Barcelona and took a Master’s degree in Economic History. He is currently enjoying a four year grant within the research project “The Livelihood of Man: Natural Resources, Institutions and Technology in Agriculture during the 20th Century” (at the Department of Economics and Economic History of the University of Salamanca) and he is working on his PhD thesis on agrarian policies after World War II, with special regard to policies concerning national and international wheat markets. He has recently been awarded with the Spanish Agrarian History Society (SEHA) prize for young researchers for his work on the theoretical framework of the food sovereignty approach. He is particularly interested in agrarian history and in the history of international trade.
