The “OLFATOUSAL” group was recognized as a research group (GIR) in the Governing Council of the University of Salamanca held on June 30, 2005.

By resolution of the General Director of Universities and Research of the Junta de Castilla y León of November 15, 2007, the status of Group of Excellence of Castilla y León (GR87) is recognized.

By resolution of the General Director of Universities and Research of the Junta de Castilla y León of May 23, 2019, the condition of Consolidated Research Unit of Castilla y León (UIC 282) is recognized.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

The line of work of this research group is focused on the development of fast, simple and automated methodologies for the identification and quantification of analytes in different types of samples. The problems addressed are related to environmental, agri-food, pharmaceutical and clinical analysis..

RESEARCH LINES

1.- Non-separative methodologies

» Obtaining volatile profiles (fingerprint) by using electronic noses based on mass spectrometry.

2.- Separative methodologies

»Determination of emerging and non-emerging pollutants in waters and soils.

»Control of pharmaceutical products.

»Control of textile fibers.

»Determination of analytes in automotive fuels.

»Determination of biomarkers in biological fluids.
