Professional Internships

Translation internships aim to build a bridge between students’ academic training and the professional reality existing in different institutions and organisations which collaborate with the Master’s Degree. As far as possible, the conditions that will regulate students’ work will be close to those regulating labour markets since it is expected that students learn how to face real situations and problems independently. In January, an informative meeting will be set up and students will deal with their internships during the second semester.

Faculty students will generally work from English, French or German to Spanish, or vice versa depending on their mother tongue. They will work on a specific assignment for a specific entity during a specified time period. Students will preferably be split into working groups. In exceptional cases, students will be able to work individually. Creating a working group means that there has to be a project manager. Other roles in these working group are the revision pair, a terminological manager, a manager of translation memories, a layout editor, etc.

The supervisor of the global management of the Bachelor’s and Master’s internships is the Department Internship Committee:

Coordinator: Irene Rodríguez Arcos

Secretary: Rosario Martín Ruano

Chairpersons: María Ángeles Recio Ariza , Jesús Torres del Rey , Amalia Méndez Garrido, Ángela Flores García
