I am a Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Fundamental Physics at the University of Salamanca.
Before coming here in 2004 I was a postdoc at
- ETH Zurich (Switzerland) (1998-1999)
- U. Geneve (Switzerland) (1999-2002)
- U. Freiburg (Germany) (2002-2004)
I received my Master’s degree from the University of Sussex, UK, in 1994 and the DPhil from the University of Sussex in 1998.
My research is centered in cosmology. Over recent years I have been very interested in cosmological magnetic fields. One of the main open problems is the origin of large scale magnetic fields. There is a large class of models which puts its origin in the very early universe. Therefore there could be observational imprints in the cosmic microwave background and the formation of large scale structure.
For a review on generation mechanisms of primordial magnetic fields have a look at our Physics Reports.
For more information, most of my papers can be found in INSPIRE.
