The successful candidate will be an innovative teacher and will teach courses such as Introduction to GSWS, Introduction to Feminist Theory, Sex, Race, and Popular Culture, and advanced special topics courses based on areas of interest and expertise (e.g., Women of Color Feminism, Racialized Masculinities, Global Sexualities, Queer of Color Critique, Disability Studies, etc.). Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary program, direct undergraduate research projects or internships, organize events and student colloquia, and participate in collective governance. A PhD in hand at the time of appointment is required. PhD may be in any discipline, including Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, or English. The teaching load is three courses per semester.

The GSWS Program at the University of Pittsburgh is a vibrant community of interdisciplinary students and scholars with an undergraduate major and minor, a graduate certificate, and a very active events calendar with visiting scholars, conferences, and other research activities.
