I graduated in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Salamanca in 1999. I hold a Master’s Degree in Conference Interpreting from the UAL in Lisbon endorsed by the European Commission, which laid the foundations of my current professional career as a conference interpreter.

Owing to this training, my professional experience in the interpretation sector and my personal interest in teaching after completing a DG-Interpretation Seminar on Training for Trainers, I became part of the teaching staff of the School of Translation and Interpretation of the University of Salamanca in 2003 as a consecutive and simultaneous interpretation trainer from English, French and Portuguese into Spanish.

Upon completion of my PhD training courses at the USAL and by presenting the final paper on simultaneous interpreting challenges between related languages, I was granted the Certificate of Research Proficiency. Since 2003, I combined my full-time undergraduate teaching activity in Salamanca with periodic teaching sessions at the Master Course in Conference Interpreting offered by the Lisbon University (EMCI) until 2013.

In parallel, I have always been a staunch advocate of international experiences as a remarkable tool to build language, academic and personal skills, hence my appointment as Deputy Dean for Mobility and my involvement in the management of International Affairs and training activities with the United Nations and the European Union from 2012-16.

I recently defended my PhD dissertation on the importance of ethics in the interpreting training curriculum.
