I am also PI of the Horizon Europe project MARCLAIMED (EUR 3 200 000, USAL: 367 000), and Deputy Coordinator of the NATURANCE Project (EUR 4 000 000). I am a successful awardee of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, the AXA Research Fund Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the Ikerbasque Postdoctoral Fellowship. I have also been PI of 7 innovation contracts. Overall, I have successfully applied as PI and coordinator to competitive calls worth over EUR 9.6 million during the past 5 years. Further to my PI role, I have actively contributed as a researcher to 15 projects during the last 6 years, including Horizon Europe, H2020 projects, FP7 projects, DG ENV and DG ECHO projects, Italian and Spanish national projects, and innovation contracts, funded with over 40 million EUR. I lead a group of 9 researchers at USAL (Agricultural and Water Resources Economics Group – AWARE) and I am Deputy Coordinator of the GECOS Unit of Excellence. I am chair of Water Future’s Economic Instruments of Water Security Working Group, an international network of 25 renowned scientists co-developing the pioneering Global Water Assessment, and official reviewer for the IPCC. I have published extensively in JCR-indexed journals, including top-field journals such as Nature Sustainability. All these achievements have been matured since I completed my PhD in 2014, which received the highest possible distinctions (summa cum laude and PhD Extraordinary Award 2016).
