Agustin E. Ferraro is a scholar and international consultant. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he studied for his PhD in State and Public Administration Theory at the University of Frankfurt, Germany, from 1994 to 1996. He has more than fifteen years of experience working for governments, NGO’s and international organizations in diverse fields of public policy: state and civil service reforms, education, public security, and social policy. As a Humboldt scholar 2001-2003, he did postdoctoral research at the Institute for Latin American Studies in Hamburg, and at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2009, he won a prestigious national award in Spain (INAP) for original research on public policy and state institutions in Latin America. He was Visiting Professor at Princeton University for six months during the Spring Term 2011. At the University of Salamanca, he has been a Professor for Political Science and Public Administration since 2009. He has published books, journal articles and book chapters in Spanish, English, German and Portuguese.
